Weekend without the kids

This week me and the kids have been having fun, we went to Paultons Park, planting tomatoes, did some painting and of course some gardening. I have been trying to dedicate more time for the boys during the week and not so much time on house renovations.

This weekend both boys went to their grandparents house so me and Jason could have a good go at finishing the painting in our room and start Jaxson’s room. Jason also spent some time sorting out wires, making them neat and hiding the living room TV wires in the chimney.

Luckily Jason’s friend came round to help us. Jason and Robbie finished the painting in our bedroom whilst I finished stripping the wall paper in Jaxson’s room. After a short break we all tackled the painting in Jaxson’s room, we managed to get two coats of fresh white paint on his wall before finishing for the day.

Strangely we found a shocking number of wall plug holes in Jaxson’s room that needed to be filled. There were 15 just in one section of the wall!
We will be eventually adding colour to the walls but for now we are making the rooms look fresh.

In the evening we went for dinner at Miller & Carter steakhouse for my sister’s belated birthday. It was delicious, I would highly recommend a visit if you have a special occasion coming up.
If you sign up to emails like my sister did they give you a voucher for everyone to get a free glass of prosecco for your birthday.

Me and Jason shared some Sticky Chipotle Chicken for starter which was so tasty, for our main we both order a medium rare 30 Day Aged Steaks. They are served with a quarter of lettuce which you add a sauce too, we had blue cheese and it was amazing. The steak also comes with chips and some fried onion. It was beautiful, the best we have ever had, cooked to perfection.
